Roby Seed, ASLA
Growing up on a links golf course in Sea Ranch, California, sparked Roby Seed’s passion for golf. His interest in golf course design came at a young age and became a reality after gaining a degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of California at Davis, where he also participated on the golf team.
Prior to becoming part of the Kyle Phillips team, Roby worked as a landscape designer and planner for O’Dell Engineering, in Modesto, California. While there, he gained a technical understanding for civil design projects of all scales. His primary responsibilities included residential design and community master planning as well as detailed technical design for landscape construction. Immediately after college, Roby had worked as an assistant scientist for Blankinship and Associates, an environmental toxicology and engineering company in Davis, California. He conducted field research and data compilation for environmental quality standards of golf courses and agricultural applications.
Having a background in both design and construction, from multiple disciplines, has allowed Roby to bring creative design solutions to the many challenges faced in each project. Such is the story of Kyle Phillips Golf Course Design, which has flourished within the niche created from today’s expectations of World class designs, while implementing sustainable construction practices.
